Libraries and learning in a virtual learning environment – facilitating learners near and far
VLE’s, Resource Based Learning and its Impact on delivery of information services
The nature of learning is changing, especially through the development of distance learning. The University of Ulster’s Institute of Lifelong Learning is a central resource in the delivery of courses through Campus One, the University’s virtual campus. This presentation will cover the Institutes work, their strong links with the Library service and the role of WebCt software.

An overview of advances in this area focusing on integration between WebCT and library resources using TalisList (resource management system). The use of HERON (electronic offprints) and devolved Athens authentication will also be addressed. Followed by demonstration.
